“Just over two years ago my husband Brock was diagnosed with Stage II Pancreatic Cancer. We had such hope at that point, being only Stage II it should be fine!”
That’s how Bridgette started her story. I get it, you sit down and have The Talk, “We found a mass…” and you start making the plan. Where, what stage, what’s the treatment plan, what’s the success rate, when do we start are all the questions you start asking and start answering.
With two young daughters at home she knew they had a battle to wage but she was also positive “we should be fine.”
Through the treatment and recovery it seemed normal until it wasn’t. The cancer returned spreading to his lungs, liver and the fluid in his body. On April 14, 2024 Brock lost his battle to cancer leaving behind Bridgette, Brynna (7) and Brooke (2).
Brynna is on the St. Mathew JV cheer team and a member of Louisiana Spirit for Novice Competition Cheer.
I say it all the time, it is hardest on the support system. Brynna just wants to cheer, have fun with her friends and compete. Running for Dreams was able to help by proving a grant for her continued membership at LA Spirit. Cheer on, Brynna!
